Barrel
Barrel are one of  the important components of  plasticizing devices. In recently years ,there are many new developments found in the field of special plastic producing.According to the structure, it can be divided into unitary ordinary barrel, bimetal barrel, cordwood barrel and grooved barrel.
 
(1)Ordinary and unitary barrel
Most injection machines may choose unitary normal barrel ,this kind of barrel will use 45#, 38CrMoAIA or SACM645 as  base materials. After the nitriding treatment ,the thickness of nitriding is 0.5~0.8mm, the hardness is  HV800-HV900.
Moreover, the 30CrMoVg, 34CrAINi7, X35CrMo17, X22CrNi17,41CrAIMo7can also be the base materials when produce the ordinary and unitary barrel,  these materials need siliconization or nitriding .
 
(2) Bimetal barrel
Bimetal barrels conform to the needs of modern plastics, especially for the needs of special engineering plastics. Through the combination of structure improved the stress distribution inside and outside the layer, which can effectively improve the service life of bimetal barrel and carrying capacity, meanwhile save the materials consumption and energy consumption. Specially suitable for processing Nylon plus fiberglass, PP plus extended fiberglass,reinforced material for car parts, Bakelite, magnetic powder, ceramic powder, magnesium powder, copper powder, metallic sintered products, halogen-free plastic,fluorine plastic, PVC plus calcium powder and engineering plastics. The injection molding machine and extruder have widespread used bimetal barrel 90% in developed countries  have choosed to  use bimetal barrel.
 
The bimetal barrels we produced are casted with alloy  layer,the thickness of alloy layer could reach  2-3mm one side,in order to satisfy with the varies of customers ,we produce the following bimetal barrels:
Wc-10 tungsten carbide alloy, with the characteristic of high hardness, high hard-wearing, corrosion resistance, and high-temperature resistance, the hardness of alloy layer reaches HRC60°-65°, thus having the service life of five or six times longer than the nitrided barrel. It is suitable for the processing of  PC plus 30%-50% fiber glass, bakelite, dynamoelectric injection machine, magnetic particle, ceramic powder, aluminum and magnesium powder, ferrous powder, copper powder,etc.
 
Ni-20 nickel base alloy, with the characteristic of high corrosion resistance  and hard-wearing, the hardness of alloy layer reaches HRC58°-60°,thus having the service life of two or three times longer than the nitrided barrel. It is suitable for the PVC,PC and high strength engineering plastics,etc.
Fe-30 ferrous alloy, with the characteristic of high hardness ,high hard-wearing and corrosion resistance, the hardness of alloy layer reaches HRC60°-62°,and is suitable for Nylon plus fiber glass, PC plus fiber glass, and processing of the engineering plastics. This is a kind of more economic alloy products ,as well as the most used alloy products in the world.

H-10 (high hard-wearing),H-20(corrosion resistance),H-30( high corrosion resistance) H-50(high hard-wearing and corrosion resistance) are used widely in foreign.
 
BROOKES Company invented  the BRUX100 barrels  with the diameter of Ф25~Ф80mm,the hardness can reach HRC56°~63 °and the service life of five or six times longer than the nitrided barrel.
 
BERNEX bimetal barrels have two kinds of materials: “A110”alloy is based on Fe-B, which hardness is HRC58°~64°.The thickness of alloy layer is standard value of 1.5~2mm, maximum is 3~4mm.A110 alloy material can be grinding and EDM, but not welding. “C240”alloy is based on Ni-B-Co,which is strong corrosion resistance ,it can be processed by the hard alloy cutting tools and also be welded .
 
Generally, the overseas  produce bimetal barrels, which precision of hole processing is H7, inner diameter is φ16~φ150mm,outer diameter is φ60~ φ300mm,length is 2500~4500mm.However our company can produce bimetal barrels, which precision of hole processing is H8, inner diameter is φ16~φ250mm,outer diameter is φ150~φ500mm,maximum length can reach 9500mm.

The first method of processing screw Taking the 38CrMoAIA or SACM645 as base material ,and spraying the Ni-20 at the surface of screw arris ,which with the hardness of HRC58-62. The thickness of alloy surface on the screw arris is the standard value of 1.5-3.5mm, which is the alloy of alkaline resistance and corrosion resistance. It is mainly used in the processing of nylon plus 10%-20% fiberglass, PVC, PC ,and high strength engineering plastics.The service life of three or five times longer than the nitrided screw.
 
The second method of processing screw Taking the SKD61 or SKD11 as base material .Moreover , the material of 30CrMoVg、34CrAINi7、X35CrMo17、X22CrNi17 can also used into processing .
Through the quenching and permeability nitrogen treatment , the hardness of screw can research HRC60°-65° ,which with characteristic of high hard wearing, hard corrosion. It is suitable for processing of XPS, film, blowing machine, PE aluminum-plastic plate, chemical fiber equipment, EPE foaming material , Granulation of waste plastics, PE pipe, WPC, etc.The service life of five or eight times longer than the nitrided screw.
